Better education can create equal opportunities for young Hungarians in the labour market, which can lead to a reduction in unemployment and an economic recovery in Hungarian-inhabited areas. In this way, our institution aims to become a catalyst for the social and economic uplift of the region.
Selye János University will help to create a Hungarian intellectual class that can become a pillar of our national community, whose members can also assert themselves internationally through their language skills. The university is an open type of higher education institution, which is based on the principles of multiculturalism, freedom of thought, independence, responsibility, humanism, democracy, creativity, originality of scientific research and dialogue between teacher and student. The University develops scientific excellence alongside education; it integrates the Hungarian scientific community in Slovakia into the international scientific community, and it establishes links with the international network of scientific institutions. It plays the role of a regional centre of scientific excellence, taking an active part in the social, economic and cultural life of the region.
